I’ve been drawing lots of cartoonized bats in my sketchbook lately, so I thought I’d try and study some actual bats! XD Gotta say they are pretty damn cute.. <3

Day 21 - Canine Girl

One of my old classmates, Polly (Haaay giiirrl), from SVA made a post about making “ugly” art, instead of the pretty stuff cause of reasons! Definitely guilty of falling into that category a lot of the time, so I was all “Sad face D:” but I really thought about it, and I remembered a time from highschool where one of my friends asked to look through my sketchbook, and after he flipped through everything, he asked me point blank - “Don’t you draw anything not beautiful? Why don’t you try drawing something ugly?” and at the time as weird (maybe even dumb?) as it sounds I really didn’t know how to respond to that.

Seeing Polly’s post made me want to try stepping out of my comfort zone and try drawing “ugly!” So instead of thinking what would be beautiful, I just went for it. So while this gal might not be the purtiest thing to look at, It was a lot of fun playing around with her design and personality.

Sooo anyways. Little bit of rambling with this image. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone!
